About The Author
keshav Trehan retired as Professor from Kurukshetra University and taught Plant Biochemistry and Microbial and Molecular genetics to postgraduate students. He completed his BSc. (Hons.) and MSc. degrees from University of Delhi with top rank. He obtained his PhD degree from University of Delhi with specialization in Microbial Biochemistry and Microbial Genetics. Dr. Trehan visited United States for about two years as Graduate Teaching Fellow, University of Oregon and undertook research in a research project on Physiology and Ecology of Photosynthetic microorganisms in Hot Springs funded by National Science Foundation. He also worked at Department of Biological Sciences, University of Warwick, England besides visiting several other major laboratories engaged in research in areas pertaining to Microbial Biochemistry and Microbial Genetics including Department of Biological Sciences at University of Durham, England, King’s College, University of London, University of Dundee, Scotland, and Department of Biochemistry, University of Wales. He has also been the Principal Investigator of several major research Projects supported by UGC, ICAR and CSIR and currently being pursued. He has authored several papers and review articles in journals of national and international repute. His current research interests include Biochemistry and Genetics of Phototrophic bacteria and Cyanobacteria including Gene Transfer Mechanisms as well as Nitrogen Fixation.
