Description

This book gives a graphic analysis of motions that follow a substantive action, differentiating between motion ex parte and on notice, stating legal requirements for them. It goes on to examine nature of interlocutory proceedings and applications therein. In chapter 2, the book examines some Interlocutory motions following substantive suits with the aim of stating the legal requirements for each of them and how reliefs are couched in respect of each of them for the purpose of litigation.

In chapters 3 and 4, the book examines various Interlocutory injunctions and interim preservation of property respectively and their uses in civil litigation and thereby provides a solid foundation and great intellectual incentives for the examination of pre-emptive remedies’ provisions in the High Court of Lagos State, Practice Direction No. 2 of 2019 which form the subject of discussion in chapter 5 of the book. Chapter 6 deal with pre-trial conference proceedings, examining certain procedural steps to be taken before trial of civil actions. It is our hope that lawyers in litigation practice, judges and other stakeholders in justice delivery will find the book immensely useful. All errors are mine.
