ABOUT THE BOOK

​Policy Research, Analysis and Public Policy-making,
stresses the importance of policy research and analysis in public policy
making process. The text, therefore, introduces students in both
undergraduate, post-graduate courses, researchers, consultants, analysts
and other practitioners to the repertoire of approaches and techniques
available for assisting policy makers in effective policy-making
process. The book is a revised and up to date series of my previous
work. The book is third volume of Policy Research, Analysis and
Policy-making series. It is a three-in-one book and made up of three
parts. Each part provides guidance about how particular techniques or
approaches can be explored to assist policy makers in the task of
decision making. Specifically, each part consists of chapters that
provide in-depth analysis of the following key concepts:

​The presentation of the text is concise, simple and blends

would be of tremendous benefit to all students in tertiary institutions
taking courses in Policy Research, Policy Analysis, and Public Policy.
The book would also be an invaluable resource material for researchers,
policy analysts, Consultants for Agencies, Policy Advocates, Policy
Advisers, Policymakers and Practitioners.

​ABOUT THE AUTHOR

​Augustine Nduka Eneanya obtained B. Sc (Hons.), 2nd Class
Upper Division in Political Science from the University of Calabar, MPA
and Ph.D (Public Policy) from the University of Lagos, Akoka, Yaba,
Lagos. He is a specialist in Public Policy Analysis and Public
Administration as well as Human Capital Management. He is a graduate
member of Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria
(CIPMN); Member, Institute of Management Consultant of Nigeria (IMCN);
Member, Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM); Member, American Society
of Public Administration (ASPA).

​Eneanya has worked in both public and private sectors in
Nigeria. He worked in the former Bendel Civil Service, between 1976 to
1981, and rose to the position of Cooperative Inspector before leaving
for University education. In the Private sector, he worked as Human
Resources Manager in four different firms between 1986 and 2003 and rose
to the position of General Manager. He also worked in Ausbeta Limited, a
HR/Training Consultancy firm between 2003 and 2007 as Managing
Consultant.

​He was a former Associate Consultant to the Nigerian
Institute of Management and one-time Lecturer at the Chartered Institute
of Personnel Management of Nigeria, and currently lectures in the
Department of Political Science, University of Lagos, Akoka, Yaba Lagos.
He is a Senior Lecturer and teaches Public Administration; Research
Methods, Public Policy Analysis and Public Personnel Administration. He
has scholarly articles in local and international journals to his
credit. He is the author of several books, namely: Managing Public
Personnel in Public Sector; Theory and Practice of Public
Administration; Comparative Public Administration and Public Policy;
Comparative Local Government Administration; Research Methods in
Political Science and Public Administration; Policy and programme
Development, Implementation and Evaluation; and Principles and Practice
of Public Personnel Administration.
