Libraries have, from their very advent itself, changed through time from mere store houses of knowledge to dynamic service centres, opening new vistas and horizons of information available to a large number of people without delay. The medium of information has evolved from clay tablets to proper and to now electronic and optical media of CD-ROMs.
Today’s era is known as Information and Communication Technology era.Every aspect of human life is affected by ICT.The applications of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in libraries have brought the revolutionary changes in the entire concept of library operations, services and management. Today, the modern libraries are not equipped with print books and journals but also with CD-ROM Databases, Digital Video Discs, Electronic Databases, Consortia’s, e books and e-journals etc. While the digital revolution and e-books are not the only factors affecting libraries changing demographics, changing patterns of expectation and use, and the economy are some other factors-it is one of the more dramatic and is of tremendous concern to members and libraries nationwide. For this reason, the Association must be a strong voice for libraries to the publishing and content-creation community. The digital age has brought transformative change to the scholarly information environment and has dramatically changed the way faculty and students use libraries. Library users have a diversity of information needs and libraries worldwide are responding to the challenges of the digital age by rethinking approaches to library facilities, services, and collections. M. S. Saharan is a native from Ninan district Hanumangarh. He did his schooling from Govt higher secondary school Ninan district Hanumangarh. He did his Graduation and post graduation did from Govt. Dungar College, Bikaner. He did M.Phil in History from Pariyar University, Tamilnadu. He did his Graduation in Library Science from Kota Open University, Kota and Post Graduation in Library sciegce from Vinayka Mission University, Tamilnadu Salem. He is also BJMC from Kota Open University, Kota. He has PG diploma in Guiding and Counseling. He has long experience in his field. He is working as Educational Socialist in his working area at anupgarh and have involvement in various educational and social organization like M.S.
