Prof. S L Somasundaram obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Annamalai University, India. He had his earlier training at the Thermal Power Station of Neyveli Lignite Corporation, India. He was a Lecturer at Annamalai University where he took his Master’s degree in Heat Power Engineering. He served as an Assistant Professor in the Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai, India. He was sponsored by the Foreign Assignment section of Govt. of India to serve as a Faculty member in the Kenya Polytechnic, Nairobi, Kenya and in Ondo State Polytechnic, Owo, Nigeria. He was the Director (Dean), School of Engineering and a team member of National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), for accreditation of Polytechnic in Nigeria, before serving as Professor in National Engineering College, Kovilpatti, as well as the Kalasalingam College of Engineering, Krishnankoil, India. He is now the Principal of Sairam Engineering College, Chennai, India. He is a member of Indian Society for Technical Education. His two other publications are Engineering Thermodynamics and Gas Dynamics and Jet Propulsion, published by New Age International (P) Ltd., Publishers.
