About the Book:
This book in fourteen chapters presents state-of-the-art critical review of many facets of modern mineral processing science and technology, written by eminent experts in the field. The subject matter covered includes characterization of mineral separation systems including mineral association and liberation, modeling of ball mills, grinding aids, chemistry of flotation separation and novel separation techniques like selective flocculation, high gradient magnetic separation and biobeneficiation.
About the Author:
Dr. Pradip, currently scientist at Tata Research Development and Design Centre, Pune, received his B.Tech. degree in Metallurgical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur in 1975 and M.S. & Ph.D. degrees in Materials Science and Mineral Engineering from University of California at Berkeley in 1977 and 1981 respectively. His main areas of research include applied surface and colloid chemistry, advanced ceramics processing, mathematical modelling and simulation of particulate processing systems, waste recycling and cement chemistry besides mineral processing. Winner of Young Associate Award of Indian Academy of Sciences (1988), National Metallurgist Day (NMD) Award of Indian Institute of Metals in 1990 and Materials Research Society of India (MRSI) medal in 1992, Dr. Pradip has more than fifty five research publications and five patents to his credit.
