Library and Information Science (LIS) is an interdisciplinary domain concerned with creation, management, and uses of information in all ts forms. Taught in colleges and universities at the undergraduate and graduate levels and a subject of research in both industry and academia, LIS brings together a variety of theoretical approaches. Its focus is on representations of information- the documentary evidence of civilization-as well as on the technologies and organizations through which information becomes accessible. The connotational meaning of documentation is processing of information or document. Documentation is that process that process by which the documents are ready to use in a stratified way i.e. the process of classifying and annotating text, photographs etc. Documentation is a set of documents provided on paper or online or on digital or analogue media, such as, audio tape or CDs. Professionals educated in this field are termed documentalists. This field best known as Information Service. Library and Information Science is a profession that is full of people passionate about making a positive change in the world, and they tend to be wildly happy about what they do. According to one recent survey, Over 85 percent or information professionals questioned said if they had the choice, they’d do it again.
