About the Author:

Dr. Onkar Singh, presently Vice-chancellor of Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology, Gorakhpur is the Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Harcourt Butler Technological Institute, Kanpur. He has vast teaching experience of around 23 years at undergraduate and postgraduate level in different Institutions. Dr. Singh has published large number of research papers in international / national journals and conference proceedings. His areas of interest include thermal engineering, CAD and turbomachines. He has completed number of research projects funded by AICTE, New Delhi, Dept. of Science & Technology, Govt. of India, University Grants Commission, New Delhi, Council of Science & Technology, U P. He is proud recipient of Young Teacher Career Award from AICTE, New Delhi.

Dr. S.S. Bhavikatti studied at BVB College of Engineering and Technology, Hubli for his BE (Civil) degree and graduated from Karnataka University, Dharwad in 1963, sharing first rank with another candidate. The same year he joined Karnataka Regional Engineering College (presently NITK) Surathkal, as a faculty. He secured M.E. degree in Structural Engineering in 1967 from University of Roorkee, Roorkee (presently IIT Roorkee) under Technical Teachers Training Programme and Ph.D. degree in 1977 from IIT Delhi under Quality Improvement Programme. He served NITK in different capacities like Head of Civil Engineering Department, Chairman, Centre for Continuing Education, Chairman Central Computer Centre and Dean (Administration). From November 2001 to November 2005, he served at SDM College of Engineering and Technology, Dharwad. He then served RYMEC, Bellary as Principal upto September 2007. Presently he is working as Emeritus Professor at BVB College of Engineering and Technology. He has published 68 technical papers and 72 books. He has guided 72 students for M.Tech dissertation and 6 students for Ph.D. He was member of organizing / scientific committee of international seminars organized by IASS held at Taegue (South Korea) in 1990, Tokyo (Japan) in 1993 and Taipei (Taiwan) in 1997. He is member of several Indian and International professional bodies and several technical committees appointed by Government of Karnataka.


Suresh Chandra
graduated in Mechanical Engineering in 1957 and did his M.S. from University of Illinois, USA (1959) under US Govt. Scholarship. Prof. Chandra obtained his Ph.D. from University of Liverpool, UK in 1970 under Leverhulme Fellowship. He has been the Founder Director of Institute of Engineering & Technology (IET), Lucknow.

Er. P.K. Bharti is M.Tech. (Industrial System Engineering) from K.N.I.T., Sultanpur. He has more than 9 years of teaching experience as lecturer and senior lecturer in Integral University, Lucknow. He has published various papers in different National International Journals. He has also authored a text book“Engineering Mechanics“ for B.Tech. Ist year students.
