FUNDAMENTALS OF PLANT BIOCHEMISTRY AND BIOTECHNOLOGY ABOUT THE BOOK The present book “Fundamentals of Plant Biochemistry and Biotechnology” is a very tedious and comprehensive work. This book covers the subject matter as per syllabus of Vth Dean’s committee Recommendation. This book “Fundamentals of Plant Biochemistry and Biotechnology” will be a milestone and useful for the UG, PG students, and Professors of colleges and Universities of India and abroad. This book has been written in a simple language and lucid manner. Efforts have been made to provide up-to-date information about various principles and their practical implications especially in Plant Biochemistry and Biotechnology. In this book chapters are well designed to cover recent innovative (plant biochemistry, molecular and biotechnological) approaches that are recently employed in Plant Biochemistry and biotechnology. ABOUT THE AUTHORS Prof. (Dr.) Rajendra Kumar Yadav was born in 1969. Presently he is working as Dean, College of Agriculture, Lakhimpur Kheri (Campus), Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur -208002 (India). He has over twenty eight years experience in a both teaching and research in Genetics and Plant Breeding.

He has made outstanding contribution in the field of Agriculture Education and Research by way of commercial release of two varieties of Cereals (Wheat variety K-1317, barley variety K-1055) publishing of more than 125 research papers in various International and National repute journals besides participating in many International and National conferences, Supervision of nearly three dozen students (PG. and Ph.D Scholars) for their thesis work, actively engaged in teaching courses of UG, PG and Ph.D. of Genetics and Plant Breeding published twenty books i.e. Text books-14, Practical manuals-4 and Reference books-2.and Fifteen book chapters. He is a recipient of Dr. Rajendra Prasad Puraskar- 2012 of Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi. He has been awarded as, IN Awards-2018 for Agricultural Education, Distinguished Scientist Award – 2018 at Bali, Indonesia and IN Awards-2019, IN International Awards- 2020 for Agricultural Education. Additionally, he is Editor in Indian Citizen News for Agricultural Education and Nodal Officer in All India Higher Education Survey, Ministry of HRD, Government of India, New Delhi. Prof. L. Singh was born in 1960.

He has thirty three years experience in a both teaching and research in Agriculture Biochemistry. He had made an outstanding contributions in the biochemistry of cereals (wheat, barley, maize etc.), oil seeds (groundnut, sunflower, mustard, sesame and linseed), vegetables (potato, tomato, chilli, baby corn etc.), legumes (chickpea, pea, moonbeam etc.) and soil biology, publishing of more than thirty five research papers in various international and national repute journals besides participating in many international and national conferences, supervision of nearly three dozen PG students and also actively engages in teaching courses of UG, PG and Ph.D of Plant Biochemistry, Food Science and technology, Soil Biochemistry, molecular biology and Crop improvements and published three practical manuals in Plant Biochemistry. He has awarded fellow of Indian Society of Agricultural Biochemistry (FISAB) and Fellow of Indian Agricultural Chemistry (FISAC). He is Asstt. Editor in Indian Journal of Agricultural Biochemistry. Presently, he is working as Professor & Head, Department of Agricultural Biochemistry, College of Agriculture, Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur
