The author feels great pleasure in presenting the Fourth Edition of the book with a new revised syllabus according to various states.

The most of the topics are rewritten and so designed to meet the needs of even Degree holders. The subject matter has been presented in an easy manner using simple language. A large number of old diagrams are replaced by the new ones. Obiective type questions have also been added at the end of each chapter. In addition to above short answer, medium and long answer type questions have been added in the end of each chapter also. The solution to each problem is given in the end of chapter for the examination point of view.

In the last, a number of experiments are added as per syllabus. The book hase been carefully read with an effort to eliminate errors. However, it is quite likely that some are still undetected. The author is also thankful to the students and teachers who have sent their valuable suggestions for the improvement of this book.
